WHY DOES CONFIANZ GLOBAL EXIST?
I am a first-generation entrepreneur and immigrant here in the US. I grew up in a middle-class family in India, where I saw my single mom working so hard every day to make ends meet. I was always fascinated by electronics, computers, and opensource technology. In college, while my friends were all focusing on their grades or GPAs, I was focused more on learning Java programming and Linux. After acquiring my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, armed with my love for opensource, like everybody else I started my corporate job hoping to change the world. It was a hard pill for me to swallow when I learned how large proprietary software vendors keep their costing so exorbitantly high that most of the small, medium and even some large corporations cannot afford them.
Two years later, my New Jersey-based employer was bought by another company in Atlanta, Georgia. They fired the entire development team which included me. Instead of applying for another job, I decided to start a business of my own to cater mainly to SMBs using opensource technologies in 2008. My wife came up with the name Confianz, a derivative of the Spanish word “confianza” which means trust or confidence. Fast forward 14 years and I could not be happier. We have been fortunate enough to help hundreds of customers in the U.S. while creating more jobs in the US and India. But most importantly, I created an employee-run company focused on customer values.
What motivates each one of us at Confianz Global every day is solving critical problems for our customers by using innovative cutting-edge opensource technology without breaking their bank while nurturing an awesome work culture.
